Law Firm Software Pricing Starts With the Written Scope

Published plan prices are only the first input. Compare users, modules, implementation, migration, payment processing, integrations, renewal terms and the cost of obtaining a complete export.

Starting prices, side by side

Prices recorded from each vendor's own pricing page on July 17, 2026. Several vendors publish only a starting tier and quote the rest — those are flagged, not guessed.

Scope every cost category

Subscription and identity model

List attorneys, staff, contractors, temporary users, client portal users and office locations. Confirm minimum commitments, inactive-user rules, role limits and which functions require another module.

Implementation and migration

Separate configuration, templates, custom fields, training, historical records, documents, accounting balances and trust data. Define acceptance criteria and who fixes rejected records.

Billing, payments and accounting

Document card and ACH terms, payout timing, refunds, chargebacks, trust handling, e-billing, general-ledger scope and every required accounting integration.

Security, support and governance

Confirm permission tiers, restricted matters, audit history, support hours, incident escalation, retention settings and any service that requires a higher plan.

Renewal and exit

Record contract term, renewal notice, price-change language, termination access, export formats, export assistance, delivery time and the cost of retrieving all records and attachments.

Ten questions for a written quote

  1. Which plan and add-ons support every demonstrated workflow?
  2. Which people require paid seats, and how are inactive users handled?
  3. What implementation work is included, excluded or partner-delivered?
  4. Which historical records, relationships and attachments will migrate?
  5. How are trust and operating transactions priced and reconciled?
  6. What payment-processing, e-signature, messaging and storage fees apply?
  7. Which integrations, API functions and bulk exports require another fee?
  8. What support level and response commitment are included?
  9. How can pricing change at renewal?
  10. What complete export is delivered before and after termination?
